You can instantly filter any container.

By adding the Filter field to any container you own, you can instantly search for any visible string in that container. Use it to filter container contents to display only objects containing particular text. For example, if you type a person's name, all content to or from that person will be displayed. Simply clear the field to remove the filter.

Adding the Filter field

If your Mailbox or other desired container doesn't have the Filter field by default, you can add it by doing the following:

1 Choose View > Toolbars > Customize Toolbars.

2 Choose Filter from the Category menu.

3 Drag the Filter field to the toolbar of the desired container.

Ways to filter

Here are some other uses for the Filter field:

• Enter a date to filter all content for a particular date.

• Enter a name or email address to filter all content to or from a particular person.

• Enter a keyword to filter all content for a particular topic.
