Requesting and Using Single-Sign-On (SSO) Tickets with the API

  • With FirstClass, you can "Trust" an account and use that account to request a login SSO ticket and then use that ticket to log in as that user. The FirstClass SSO ticket contains all login information for a given user. No additional information is needed other than the SSO ticket to log in to FirstClass. As this is an extremely powerful feature, it is important that you consider additional security measures to prevent unauthorized access to user accounts.

Please see the chapter on SSO security for more detail.

  • You can use the API to log in a the Trusted user and request a ticket.

  • The API SSO Inspector tool is similar to the API Inspector tool in that it allows you to log in and submit API requests to the server. Unlike the API inspector however, this tool requires an activated Trusted User account.

  • As mentioned in the introduction, it is important that you consider additional security measures to prevent unauthorized access to user accounts.
