Create a Settings File

FCPUTIL, like a gateway, must have a settings file configured and saved at the same level as the application.
This settings file must be configured to connect to the FirstClass server using the FCPUTIL account ID and password embedded in the settings file.

Duplicate a Settings file and name it fcputil.fc

The easiest way to create a settings file to connect to your server is to duplicate an existing settings file and rename it as fcputil.fc
You can use either the admin.fc or the INETSVCS.FC file that can be found in the FCServer folder.

Configure the Settings File

Open the settings file in the FirstClass Client and enter or note the following information.

  1. Make note of the FCP protocol file that is being used
  2. Enter the FCPUTIL account User ID
  3. Enter the FCPUTIL account password
  4. Enter the Server address

Save the settings file and place it in the same folder that you will be running FCPUTIL from.
