Create an FCPUTIL User Account

FCPUTIL requires the creation of an account on your server that can log in with a saved password and has both the "Monitor server" and "Maintain server" privileges

The first step is to create an account on your server that will be used but the FCPUTIL utility.

  1. The account name can be anything you like
  2. The User ID can be anything you like, however, it might be wise to use the User ID fcputil so you can follow along with the rest of this document.
  3. Assign a secure password.

The account must have both Monitor Server and Maintain Server permission. The account must also be able to log in using a Saved Password. The easiest way to accomplish both of these requirements at once is to create a Group called FCPUTIL Group and

  1. Check both Monitor Server and Maintain Server on the Features Tab of the group
  2. Make sure that the local saving policy is set to All Saved Passwords on the Security Tab of the group
  3. Add the FCPUTIL account to this new group
