FirstClass Application Services

  • FirstClass Application Services can be installed on a Windows or a Macintosh computer and can be installed on the same computer as your FirsClass Network Store (FCNS) or on a different computer altogether. The purpose of this document is to assist you with the installation process.

Installing FCAS on Windows

  • This section describes how you can install FCAS on a Windows computer. FCAS can be installed on the same server as your FirstClass Server and network store, or it can be installed on a separate computer. If installed on a separate computer, it will require two steps

Installing FCAS on Macintosh

  • This section describes how you can install FCAS on a Macintosh computer. FCAS can be installed on the same server as your FirstClass Server and network store, or it can be installed on a separate computer. If installed on a separate computer, it will require two steps.

Server Configuration (Mac and Windows)

  • After running the installer, you must process the batch files. This process is identical for both Macintosh and Windows installation.

Starting FCAS

  • Like Internet Services, FCAS must make a persistent connection to your FirstClass server and the executable must be launched.

Updating FCAS executables

  • Updates to FCAS are delivered to your FC Updates Service folder on the Admin desktop. Updates for windows contain both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of FCAS. Accompanying each executable is a companion pdb file that will generate better logging in the event of an application crash.
    For Macintosh, you will find an fcasd.dmg disk image that contains a shell script along with the related files to assist you in performing the installation.
