This section describes how you can install FCAS on a Windows computer. FCAS can be installed on the same server as your FirstClass Server and network store, or it can be installed on a separate computer. If installed on a separate computer, it will require two steps
If you have never installed FCAS before, or are upgrading to FCAS version 4 you will have to download and run the FCAS 4 Build 4113 Installer. This can be found FCUpdates folder on your own server. If you cannot find it there, contact FirstClass Support.
Note: This is NOT the latest version of FCAS, but it is the last update that contained the full installer. Once you have run the initial installer, you can install the updates.
Launch the windows Installer (FCAS40B4113) and follow the instructions on the screen. If you are going to install FCAS on the same server that contains your network store, select all three checkboxes and click on Next.
The Default location is shown as C:\FCAS. If your FCNS is on a different drive, click on Browse... and change the drive letter only. Do NOT remove the :\FCAS. Click on Next twice more to finish the installation.
FCAS acts as a Gateway to your FirstClass server. If you are going to be installing it on a separate computer from your FirstClass Server, you need to complete the installation in two parts. First, you would complete the previous step, but this time only choose the last two checkboxes.
The default drive is C: so if your FCNS is on a second drive, just change the drive letter and DO NOT change the remaining part of the path. Click on OK, then Next twice, and finally finish.
This has installed the batch files required to set up FCAS on your server. You now need to log in to your server as the Admin and process the batch files.
