fcGroupManager - Updated - Aug 31, 2012
View Video at http://bit.ly/O5JtDb (new video shows new feature added Aug, 2012) for demonstration and configuration instructions.
Features
With fcGroupManager you can:
- add or remove users from groups
- change passwords or
- email the entire group.
- Log in as user (new)
fcGroupManager is highly configurable. You control which of these features you wish your manager to control.
You can also set up restrictions so that even if you do allow one of the features, you can deny the ability to control that if the person you are adding is a member of another group.
Every action that a group manager performs is also recorded in the log.
Requirements
This application requires FCASv4 build 4154 or higher and FCServer version 10 or higher. FCAS and FCS can be running on either a Macintosh or Windows system There is no back end database. DO NOT use any version of FCAS other than those distributed through FC Updates Service.
This is the first of several apps that I plan to make freely available so feel free to distribute and install.
I don't anticipate any problems and I have no documentation other than the video that I did and it should be fairly self explanatory after watching the video at http://bit.ly/O5JtDb
Unzip the attached archive and place the files in the \FCNS\Server\Batch folder and then log in as admin and open Core Services > Server Control and click on Batch Folder to complete the installation
Once installed you will also have to load the FCAS application.
Open Clustered Services > FCAS Config > Application Monitor and you will see two new unloaded applications
Both of these applications have to be loaded. The Registration app is one that I and Werner de Jong will be shipping with all of our apps now and it registers them so that we know who is using them and so we can get back to them with updates if required.
On your Admin desktop, look in the FirstClass Applications folder and you will find
DO NOT MOVE THIS CONFERENCE FROM THIS FOLDER. You can add an alias to your desktop if you like but do not move it.
Inside there is all you need.
Do not Remove the Templates or Install Module items. You can move the other two items to any location as they are RAD apps. You can use the Install Module application to create multple instances of the Setup and Manage My Groups modules.
Please review the videos and you should be able to figure out how to use the application.
