Course Summary

This course is designed for experienced FirstClass administrators whose systems are large enough to benefit from management through batch administration.  The course will focus on managing users, creating and managing objects.  Strong emphasis will be placed on the GET and PUT commands.

Overview of FirstClass Scripting (Batch Administration)
° understanding the function of Directory and Path
° supported field types
° supported object types
° methods of submitting commands
° the use of spreadsheets and databases
° Scripting Toolkit

Managing Users
° adding and deleting users
° changing the User Information form
° retrieving information
° changing the Desktop
° changing user preferences

Creating and Managing Objects
° creating conferences, groups, gateways, stationery, mail lists, address books,  and home pages
° adding information to forms
° retrieving information from forms
° configuring the View Properties form
° setting conference permissions.

Notes

Prerequisites
Due to the advanced subject matter, participants require one year's administrative experience or the permission of the instructor to enroll in this course.

Public courses are available at Authorized Education Centers (AECs) located in the US and Canada.  Participants are responsible for travel expenses.  Suitable for ongoing administrative training.  Prices are per person.
