Benefits
The most important benefit from the FirstClass Administrator Training is the experience you get with FirstClass. We have encountered various systems implemented in a wide range of organizations and although they are often very different, many of the same issues often arise. One of these issues is how to plan a FirstClass system. We emphasize the importance of organizing and planning your system before the server is configured and we provide you with guidelines in order to do this. We explain the most efficient ways of subscribing users and privilege groups to the conferences that you have set up and the security measures you can take to prevent users from contributing to particular areas or even knowing that other areas exist.
We introduce you to and explain common technical issues and user questions that you may encounter with FirstClass, such as troubleshooting. Without the course, you would eventually learn about these topics through trial and error, but with it, you can avoid time-consuming problems. You will have a thorough overview of what the software can and cannot do before you start your own system. We know what other organizations are doing with FirstClass and can provide solutions for the challenges particular to your environment.
Another benefit to taking the course is the networking you can take advantage of while at the course. You will meet other System Administrators who will also be running FirstClass. We welcome your questions both before and long after the course has taken place.
Technically, FirstClass is not difficult to master. You can set up users and conferences quite easily. However, when you receive your server and license disks, you have essentially been presented with a blank slate. The FirstClass Administrator training course helps you efficiently use the tools provided to create the system that will work for your organization’s particular needs. What you learn in two days is worth weeks of time and effort that you would spend trying to configure the system to it’s best advantage on your own. Sending a potential Administrator to the course, in this sense, is one of the best investments you can make.
